By February 9, 2018News

DevGAMM Kyiv 2018 is over! We hope that you got a lot of cool memories from these couple crazy days at the conference. Because, we definitely did. In total 934 people from 20 countries attended our event in Cosmopolite Congress Hall. Right after Minsk event, just in two months we organized this awesome DevGAMM. Let’s remind you how it was 🙂

Sessions, workshops, discussion panels

There were 40+ sessions in 4 halls this time at DevGAMM Kyiv. Som many of you also took part in several workshops on iOS, Azure, game design, and creation the logic of game description, discussion panels on indie survival guide and VR & AR trends.

As for sessions, we had so many experienced industry representatives sharing their knowledge. Such top-speakers as Rami Ismail (Vlambeer), Callum Underwood, (Raw Fury), Leszek Szczepański (Guerrilla Games), John Comes (tinyBuild), Alex Nichiporchik (tinyBuild), Jon Carnage (Twitch) delivered great talks.

The speakers’ lineup also included Alex Rose (Alex Rose Games), Sven Andersson and Oleg Pridiuk (King), Aleksay Kolesnikov (Playrix), Dmitry Skobelev (Wargaming.net), Kirill Bragin (Ubisoft), Stepan Shulga (Starladder), Aleksey “White-Ra” Krupnyk (Esport-Expert), Andrey Taliashvili (Gameloft), Anton Kolesnyk (Plarium), and others.

Speed Game Dating with publishers

One of the main DevGAMM conference features is Speed Game Dating. During 3-minute meetings with publishers the developers had an opportunity to pitch their games and exchange contact details. The publishers present included Wargaming, Raw Fury, tinyBuild, Big Fish Games, TabTale and other leading companies.

New matchmaking tool – Meetpoint

This event we introduced our new matchmaking tool Meetpoint for the first time. There are more features for updating your profile. The system is still in beta version, but participants got to appoint meetings, create personal profiles, plan the schedule. We joined forces with Meetpoint team to make the system better and we really appreciate your feedback.

Showcase area

DevGAMM Showcase is an integral part of the conference. Game developers had an opportunity to present their projects during the whole day. The most important part is that you have enough time to collect feedback from attendees.

Most memorable games included Guns’n’Stories: Bulletproof VR from Mirowin, Odanako! from Six Socks Software, G30 from G30, and Super Rude Bear Resurrection from Alex Rose Games.

Participation in DevGAMM Showcase is free you just need to buy a ticket for the conference. The next game submissions will open in April. Subscribe to stay on top of the deadlines.

Interactive DevGAMM Quest

We just couldn’t left our attendees without prizes 🙂 212 participants finished our DevGAMM Quest. And 72 cool prizes from our sponsors were ruffled: Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 Slim from Playrix, 2 chairs from DXRacer and from Murka, Instax Wide 300 from Wargaming.net, JBL Flip 4 from G5, Sega Dendy Master, T-shirts from Sense.Vision, games and merch from Ubisoft, Leap Motion from tinyBuild, Hoodie from Social Quantum.

We’re really grateful to all our sponsors for creating lots of activities on the booths for our attendees. Thanks for the support to Appodeal, Playrix, Social Quantum, Murka, Vizor Interactive, Corona, Unity Technologies, Wargaming.net, G5 Entertainment AB, Ubisoft, tinyBuild GAMES, Plarium and other companies.

Everyone was totally impressed by Bullet-time from Social Quantum. 12 cameras worked simultaneously. After that short and branded mp4 or GIF video was created.

At Murka booth attendees could try out a claw machine with small pillows and T-shirts. Ubisoft organized a separate area with Just Dance. And there was also the arcade machine where everyone could play awesome old school games.

Merch at DevGAMM Shop

We joined forces with Niko, our promotional partner and organized DevGAMM Shop where all the attendees could buy some branded products as T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, buffs, and more. We hope all of you got yourself something to remember the conference by 🙂

Career Wall

At our Career Wall, 98 job offers were from the leading gaming companies were collected. If you didn’t have enough time to check them out then here’s the link with all of them. Career Wall was sponsored by Pixonic and supported by our traditional HR Partner –  VALUES VALUE.

Three parties at DevGAMM Kyiv

The pre-party was held in a comfy 3B Republic pub which was sponsored by Appodeal. Everyone had chance to take their badges and avoid the lines during the first conference day. There were lot of beer, wine, tasty snacks and soft drinks. Also, there was a separate room with hookah and karaoke 🙂

During the official party in Atlas club, all conference attendees just cut fully loose. Two bands entertained our guests: atmospheric Miles Babies and super energetic cover-band High Score. It was awesome and crazy at the same time 🙂

Apart from dances everyone took photos in the photo booth, use this link to see them.

Unbelievable show Game Lynch’s Back

This year Game Lynch was special. Those crazy dances on the couch will definitely leave an imprint on our memory. The experts and developers were awesomely prepared. Rami Ismail was great as always and super straightforward. Alex Rose appeared to be the king of video editing, and Michael Kuzmin won over developers for the first time. Leszek Szczepański killed it with the best performance of the evening. It was impossible to take the eyes off him. We should also highlight the developers of Indie Special Olympics that developed the game especially for Game Lynch. They prepared heart touching speech that helped to won Jon Carnage (!).

After Game Lynch happened something that nobody expected… Thanks to talented Taras Zhukov and DevGAMM team we finished this conference spectacularly and broke the 4th wall a bit during the musical 🙂 DevGAMM IS the Greatest Show that is meant for all of you.

Only in two months (!) we managed to organize this unbelievable conference in Kyiv! We hope that you also enjoyed these cool 2 days with us 🙂

Huge thanks to all the speakers, moderators, advisers, sponsors, volunteers, the press and all participants who visited DevGAMM Kyiv 2018. With your help, we created such great conference atmosphere!

After all the sessions there was a bye-bye Mingle with cake and champagne 🙂 It was our 10th anniversary, so we’re really happy that all of you celebrated with us. The most important is that we’re going to celebrate this whole year. Wait for more surprises 🙂
