Game Fest
The first online DevGAMM festival dedicated entirely to games and developers.
The submission fee is $50.
You can submit your game free of charge, provided that your development team is from Ukraine.
Submission secures your right to take part in DevGAMM Awards. Participation in Streaming Showcase and Live Interviews is not guaranteed. If you are selected for any of these activities, you will get an invitation to your email address.
A confirmation of your participation in the Fest will be sent to the email address given during registration.
Your participation in Live Interviews and Streaming Showcase will be confirmed in an email within a few weeks after the submission deadline.
Everyone can cancel their participation and refund the fee until November 18, 2022 exclusive. Just send us an email to tickets@devgamm.com so we can start the refund process.
DevGAMM Awards
Competition between developers of new games. A $20,000 prize fund and over 100 industry professionals on the jury.
A call for submissions is open from 1 June to October 20.
Judging:
- First round (shortlisting): October 21-30
- Second round (project evaluation): November 1-13
- Third round (election of winners): November 14-16
Nominees announcement: November 14
Awards ceremony: November 25
- Send a submission before October 20, 2022.
- Pay the participation fee.
- Join the DevGAMM Community in Discord.
You can edit your submission up until the submission deadline (October 20).
By sending a submission, you agree to take part in the online awards ceremony (live or recorded version) if your game becomes one of the nominees. The ceremony will take place on November 25, 2022.
The organizers reserve the right to exclude any game from the list of nominees without giving reasons.
- Name of the game.
- Short game description (up to 140 characters long).
- Genre, development technology, and release platforms.
- Information about developer and publisher (if any).
- Game icon (150х150px, PNG or JPG).
- 3 in-game screenshots.
- Gameplay video (10 minutes or longer).
- Game trailer (optional).
- Build (one or several) for different platforms and codes (see Build Requirements below).
- Answer the question of why your game deserves to win the nomination you apply for.
A game can be submitted for DevGAMM Awards not more than:
- 3 times – before the official release,
- 1 time – after the release.
Rules for past winners of DevGAMM Awards:
- If your game already won Grand Prize, or Best Indie Game, you can not submit it again (even if it hasn’t been released yet).
- If your game won other nominations, you can submit it again for the nominations it never won.
(!) A rule that applies to released games: we receive only those projects that have been released after October 10, 2021.
- Development stage: any (except prototype), from vertical slice to release version.
- Release: only projects that have been released after October 10, 2021.
- Team size: any.
- Country: any.
- Availability of publisher/investor: allowed.
- Availability of playable version: required (see Build Requirements below).
If your game is available for several platforms, we recommend that you add several build types.
Desktop / Steam:
- If the game is available on Steam – provide the link to your game’s page in the store. If it’s a paid one, provide 100 keys for our judges (all the unused keys will be returned after the Fest at your request);
- If the game is not available on Steam – provide the link to your build in Google Drive or Dropbox. Links to Yandex.Disk, Cloud Mail.Ru, etc. are NOT allowed. Format: ZIP only.
Mobile:
- If the game is available on Google Play or App Store – provide the link to the game;
- If it’s a paid game, provide 100 keys for our judges (all the unused keys will be returned after the Fest at your request);
- If the game is not available on Google Play – provide the link to APK file;
- If the game is not available on App Store – provide the link to TestFlight testing.
Browser:
- If the game is available in a browser – provide the link to the web version;
- If some extra steps are necessary for access, describe them in the comments to your submission.
Consoles and VR:
- Games for Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and VR games are only accepted if there’s an analog build for desktop.
- All (100%) intellectual property rights (IP) to the game are reserved by the development team.
- The game should be indie by nature and have a small team of developers.
The organizers reserve the right to exclude any game from the list of nominees without giving reasons.
You can become a judge in DevGAMM Awards competition to access new projects and help developers improve their games.
Criteria for judges:
- At least 5 years of industry experience;
- Released games in the portfolio or relevant experience in the game industry.
Terms of participation:
- A judge should evaluate at least 20 games that will be automatically assigned to them;
- A judge can present their opinion in public or anonymously.
Judgement dates:
- First round (shortlisting): October 21-30
- Second round (project evaluation): November 1-13
- Third round (election of winners): November 14-16
Streaming Showcase
Streamers test festival games on their Twitch and YouTube channels in front of huge game fan audiences.
When you submit a game for DevGAMM Awards via general form, it’s necessary to check the box next to the Streaming Showcase.
To be eligible for the activity, you need to have at least 15 minutes of quality gameplay.Streaming slots are limited. Submission does not guarantee your participation.
To become one of the festival streamers, you need to fill out the form. You will receive detailed instructions if your application is approved.
Requirements for streamer’s channel:
- Should be on YouTube or Twitch;
- Should have streams about games;
- The last videos should not be published more than 3 months ago.
Subscribers: 30K and more (if less, we might check the quality of content).
Stream format:
- Will only take place on festival days: November 23–25;
- A single stream will last one to three hours;
- Time per game: 20 minutes (minimum) – 30 minutes (maximum);
- Games will be divided between bloggers based on the preferences mentioned in their applications.
Live Interviews
Live streams focused on presenting developers and their games to the viewers. Each interview lasts up to 15 minutes. The interviews will be held on DevGAMM’s YouTube channel.
When you submit a game for DevGAMM Awards via general form, it’s necessary to check the box next to the Live Interviews.
Interview slots are limited. Submission does not guarantee your participation.
If you showcase several games at the festival, you will not get extra time for the interview. You can present several projects in the given time.
One or two team members can take part in an interview.
If you are invited, you will be asked to provide:
- Game trailer if available (up to 1 minute)
- Gameplay video up to 15 minutes long to be used as a background (sound is not important)
- Link to your game on Steam or another platform
- Game keys for the chat (3-7 keys will work best)
- Names/positions of people that will be interviewed
Make sure to keep the audience entertained. Prepare:
- Introduction of your team
- Engaging promo of your game
- Link to your game and keys for the chat
